For Which It Stands

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

I am looking through the things which I have heard were in this so called stimulous package and I can't actually figure out how this is the best plan to create jobs. To quickly rebound our economy is not, in my humble opinion, what this stimulous package is all about. It looks like government agencies will be getting control of billions of our tax dollars and that is not ever a good idea. This money needs to be delivered directly to consumers. That is the fastest way for it to help everyone.

Well I will let you decide. Here is a list of what I have heard is in this Stimulus Package. Do to changes and inaccurate reports this list may contain items not in package any longer. But I want you to remember that there are millions of people also feeling like this should be called the Shock and Awful bill.

Ok, I know what you are thinking, how can I say 0 jobs on most of these items? Well 1st of all I don't consider "remodelling"  job creation, because once its complete no more job! Neither am I giving credit of "job creation" to anything that will not be immediate, such as buildings and construction, which take years of planning with architects, engineering, land purchase, legal, building departments, municipalities, permitting, contracts and negotiations before they can even begin! So if this bill passes today, how many jobs can begin next week or next month for that matter and how many are temporary and not permanent? I fear that this is a big thank you to special interest groups that elected our government. Otherwise why not just issue all of the middle class "working" families a $5,000 check. I say this because most middle class will spend it on other things than bills. If we give it to the low income they will just pay off bills, maybe purchase a used car etc.  and it will not help our economy. So give the money to those with jobs and we will gladly spend it, boosting our economy at the same time! Or give everyone a tax holiday for a month putting hundreds even thousands into everyone who works  pockets. What is before congress does nothing more than put money into already hurting areas which will end up probably using money to pay their bills or it will go towards government give aways which do not help our economy either. We are the ones who will have to repay this through taxes. How does $90 billion in Medicaid help our economy? It does not! It creates more dependency on our Government who is like a college student who can't justify where the money went but needs more just the same and we are like the ignorant and blind parents that keep standing idly by and handing over the cash. Its time to put an end to this. If I want to be charitable it will be by my terms not someone else's. I am going to ask my accountant if I can write off all the taxes I paid this year as charitable contributions or for medical because that is where our government is giving it away!

The thing that concerns me most about this, other than its a huge waste of our tax dollars, is that on Feb.6, 2009 President Barack Obama and former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker today named an advisory board drawn from business, labor groups and former government officials to provide an outside perspective on plans to revive the economy. 2 of these are General Electric Co. CEO Jeffrey Immelt and Service Employees International Union Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger, the administration announced.
My first question is how does a union treasurer have any idea or give any knowledge on how to revive an economy? Maybe she is an expert at donating millions to presidential campaigns and now Obama has to repay it. Because if we are going to revive this economy we will need all the work to be performed by unions possibly? Oh and lets not forget that our beloved President told the Teamsters union that he favored ending the Independent Review Board (IRB) that was created in 1989 by the federal government to rid the union of organized crime.  President Obama also has promised union bosses that the Employee Free Choice Act will become law in 2009. Basically this act will remove the private employee voting process that is in place now. So if this bill is passed by Obama Union bosses and other employees will know the names of those who vote against unionizing. I don't even need to tell you the problems this could create for those people wanting to stay anonymous.
My second question is why would you choose a ceo like Jeffrey Immelt who's company's stock has fallen 68% under his management? GE who has done business with Iran which U.S. officials say GE is providing weapons and training for Shiite militias in the Iraq conflict. What?  This is scary business as GE owns CNBC, NBC, MSNBC, and NBC News and several Entertainment industries, so a monopoly with the Green jobs is imminent for GE. GE owns Solar, Wind etc technology, light bulbs, batteries for hybrids and the list goes on. They also have the technology for that $32 Billion dollar smart grid, $20 Billion dollar renewable energy, and the $2 Billion dollar Green energy plant.  So our President will have the help of the Unions and a huge media conglomerate! I bet with Jeffrey Immelt , president of CNBC, NBC, MSNBC and NBC NEWS, the media will cover him with no prejudice what so ever! I am sure rainbows and sunshine will flow out of my TV every time they talk about President Obama!
